DW7: Sun Shang Xiang

I'm still hoping to find some good pictures without a convention-y background, but since all the pictures were taken at a convention, it isn't likely.

I had a blast wearing this, even though only a small handful of people actually knew who I was cosplaying. Almost everyone thought I was Tira from Soul Calibur, which is cool since they still liked my costume enough to comment on it, I just wish more people played Dynasty Warriors! It made my day the few times people knew the character and game. (And it's quite possible more people knew and just didn't say anything.)
Anyway, PAX was awesome, as always. It's hands down not just my favorite convention, but my favorite thing in the entire year.

My boyfriend made the chakrams, which I think are the best part of the costume. >_> I was going to try to muddle through making them myself, but he jumped in, and they look amazing! The designs on the costume are sheer fabric with paint details, or just paint. I drafted the patterns for the skirt and jacket myself, since I fail at working without a pattern. (Though I did copy the top of the sleeve from a coat pattern) I'm actually really proud of the leotard, because I made it have this wrap-around zipper so I can separate the halves and you know, go to the darn bathroom. I could go into more detail, but probably no one cares.

I plan to wear this again at KumoriCon 2011 and SakuraCon 2012 if I can get a group together.
