I did not really have an issue with version 7 until I saw the comment reminder when you add something to your favorites... A little speech bubble pops out of the artist's user icon reminding you to leave a comment. I know faving without leaving comments has been a huge issue here for a while, so maybe a lot of people will like this. I, however, am perfectly fine with people faving something of mine and not commenting, so it makes me angry that dA would make it look as though I am trying to force them to comment. We should be allowed to disable this on our own profiles. Or at the very least, choose to make it not appear as though we are saying it via our user icon.
I posted this on the main news article, and I am glad to see people agree with me... I hope enough people say something, so that they consider letting us choose to disable it on our own profiles.
People should comment because they want to, not because they feel forced into it.
Edit: Wow, I just checked, and they still prompt you to add a comment even if you left one before your added it to your favorites. I'm sorry, but that is very unprofessional and downright stupid. The whole thing angers me enough, but it just makes it that much worse.
This is downright insulting for those of us who respect our viewers. Please, dA, let us turn this off on our profiles, and for the love of God, fix it to not prompt people who have already commented!

Maybe not actually gone forever
I like to do this thing where I abandon websites for a decade, then come back, as I recently did with Tumblr. (So maybe there's hope of me actively using Facebook again in like six years?) I honestly don't do much that's worth posting here anymore, but I still do a couple cosplays a year, and knit and crochet a lot. That said, I got better at making costumes in the time I wasn't posting here, and have many I can add, so I will probably do that. It is certainly weird to look back at my convention posts here from so long ago. Conventions and cosplay were my life for quite a while, there was even a year I went to conventions in three different countries, and I actually got to live my dream I used to joke about, of being a booth babe for Koei Tecmo. I have so many wonderful memories, and I still love all of my convention friends, though in recent years I have slowed down a bit. (I suppose the pandemic did that to us all) Anything else I make any more tends to be nice enough sweaters and
PAX + Kumoricon + Cosplay + Sadness
I've been busy lately working on my costume and part of a friend's for PAX (Penny Arcade Expo), which is in a little over a week in Seattle. He's being Lu Xun, and I am being Sun Shang Xiang, both from Dynasty Warriors 7. This is kind of a dream costume for me, because I love Dynasty Warriors so much, even from before I was really into video games or conventions. Sun Shang Xiang became my favorite just because she was the only girl that started out unlocked in Dynasty Warriors 3. Kinda silly, but I still like her. (And somewhere along the line I started liking everyone in Wu too much, too.)
I have a good chunk of my costume done. I can't say
Yay, I got tagged!

1) Despite the fact that I love to make costumes, I don't really like sewing. (But I obviously do it a lot!)
2) I have a degree in computer programming, though I don't do much programming anymore.
